Irene City North Park
Irene City North Park is located East of the Irene Wakonda High School on State Street. There is a picnic shelter available to rent by contacting City Hall at 605.263.3476.
The North Park is also home to Screaming Eagle Disc Golf, a 9-hole course!
Irene City South Park
Irene City South Park is located on S. Dakota Ave. The South Park includes a playground, basketball hoop and large grass area to run and play in. Located in a quiet corner of town!
Marindahl Lake
Marindahl Lake, in South Dakotas’s Southeast Region, isn’t the kind of lake you’ll find on lists of the world’s greatest lakes. Indeed, you may not be able to find it on any lists of commonly-known lakes. The lake is relatively unknown outside of the immediate area of South Dakota, keeping it uncrowded and a haven for nature lovers.

Lars Anderson Field
Lars Anderson Field is home of the Irene Cardinals Amateur baseball team. Located North of the Irene - Wakonda High School.

Baseball/Softball Complex
Little League Baseball and Softball are played at the complex by the high school football field on the West edge of Irene.
Irene Rodeo Association
Irene Rodeo Association hosts an annual SDRA sanctioned rodeo the last Friday and Saturday of June each year. Events include Youth Mini Bulls and Broncs, Broncs, Barrels, Team Penning, Team Roping, Bulls, Calf Roping, and Mutton Bustin’ for ages 5-8! Mutton Bustin’ riders are randomly selected from those that sign up the night of rodeo.
Glenridge Golf Course
We invite you to come and experience golf at Glenridge Golf Course. Located near Irene, this course was built on hilly terrain and features water coming into play on eight holes. The small greens are well manicured, and the narrow fairways are tree lined.

Our mid-length course is just under 2,600 yards long and is comprised of five par 4's, three par 3's and one par 5 making it a testy par 34 course. Our maintenance staff takes great pride in maintaining the course and providing the golfers with exceptional playing conditions. Tee times may be made up to seven days in advance by calling 605-263-3546 or stopping by the golf shop.
Broomtree Retreat & Conference Center/
Youth & Family Camp
Broom Tree Farm Retreat Ministries, operating as the Broom Tree Retreat and Conference Center and Broom Tree Youth and Family Camp, is a ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls. Its primary mission is to provide facilities, resources and programs that aid individuals – religious and laity, youth, and families – in spiritual renewal and faith development. Broom Tree seeks to support all people of faith as they experience an awakening to God’s continual call to conversion and as they deepen their response to it. Broom Tree is also available to non-profit and for-profit organizations for their own strategic development purposes.

Marindahl Lake
Located about 6 miles Southwest of Irene. Marindahl Lake is approximately 139 sq acres (1 sq km) in size with 4 miles (6.1 km) of shoreline.
it is approximately 32 feet at its deepest point with an average depth of 12 feet.
Anglers can expect to find a variety of fish including Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Walleye, White Crappie and Yellow Bullhead in Marindahl Lake.
